Abdur Rouf Talukder, assumed the role of the 12th Governor of Bangladesh Bank on July 12, 2022. With a career spanning over three decades in the Bangladesh Civil Service, he served in various capacities including Senior Secretary, Finance Division. Apart from his tenure in the Finance Division, Mr. Talukder has held positions in the Ministries of Industries, Food, and Information, as well as at the Bangladesh High Commission in Kuala Lumpur. His contributions within the Finance Division include budget reform, macroeconomic management, and the implementation of IT in public financial management. Mr. Talukder holds an M.Sc. in Development Management from the University of Birmingham, UK, and an MBA from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) at the University of Dhaka. In addition, he attended several professional training courses at Harvard Kennedy School of Government, Boston, USA; IMF Institute, Washington DC, USA; Crown Agents Professional Development Center, London, UK; National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS), Tokyo, Japan; Institute of Public Finance (IPF), Dhaka. He has received accolades such as the 'National Integrity Award 2020-21' and led the Finance Division to achieve the 'Public Administration Award 2021'.
