Muhammad Faruq-uz-Zaman, Joint Secretary of the Finance Division, joined the Bangladesh Civil Service (Administration) Cadre in 2003. Since joining the Finance Division in 2017, he has been involved in the preparation and execution of budgets for the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock under the Medium-Term Budget Framework (MTBF). He holds a Master’s degree in Geology from the University of Dhaka and another Master’s degree in Development Economics from Japan as a JDS Fellow.
